ARTIsT STATEMENT
This piece is meant for installation in a library to teach visitors about art history in a visual way. In addition to the timeline being visual, I made it interactive and designed an interactive platform that helps users find books about different prominent eras of art history. The interface is a touch-screen that is able to be synced with the library's catalog, showing if books about the movements are on-hand or available through the library's network. I illustrated thumbnails of iconic pieces from each era to increase usability for anyone who may or may not be familliar with art history.

First I sketched out and researched the instances on my timeline, finding iconic pieces from each entry. Next I began the layout digitally and illustrated each piece, as simply as possible without loosing important details specific to the style. I decided this would be a fully-3D installation, so I designed the "holder" of the touch screen along with the timeline and rendered it in Dimension. Then I designed a user-interface to work with the physical installation and recorded it being demonstrated, then I combined all the elements and added in details, such as the shadow of a person using the interface and reflections on the screen.
