For the signage I wanted to mirror the aesthetics of the unique rope-based playground, but elevated because this park isn’t just a playground. So I used natural materials in geometric shapes and a stencil font. I also chose to incorporate plastic web-like-textural elements to mimic the iconic ropes in the playground and to represent human’s coexistence with and attempts to imitate nature. I utilized large swooping curves for the signage to mirror the arches of bridges, paths and tree branches in the park, as well as contrast the typeface I chose and to complement the Three Rivers Park District Logo.

This project was intended to grow our skills working with 3D CAD software. This park also hosts a wide variety of activities and is enjoyable for all ages. French Park & the Three Rivers Park District already had strong branding elements in place; the park's color pallet and stencil writing gave a great starting point and a tough challenge to expand upon it in a way that is appropriate for not only children, but people of all ages. I also kept the Three Rivers Park District logo in mind when designing one for C. E. French Park so that it would fit in while still creating its own unique and identifiable brand.
